Join our Vibrant Community Art Project in Flatbush!

Calling all crafters! In 2022, I teamed up with Vanessa Raptopoulos, owner of Awesome Home in Flatbush, Brooklyn, to launch a community art initiative. We create stunning public street art, one stitch (or knot!) at a time.

Here's how it works:

  • Bi-weekly Craft Nights: We host casual gatherings at Awesome Home roughly every two weeks. It's a welcoming space for crafters of all skill levels to contribute to a larger, collaborative piece destined for public display.

  • Project Timeline: Our projects typically take about four months to complete. We then sew all the individual pieces together and install the finished artwork in a designated public location.

  • Open to All: Whether you're a seasoned crocheter/knitter/weaver/sewer or a complete beginner, there's a place for you! I offer free knitting lessons at every meeting, and other members are always happy to share their crochet expertise.

  • Flexible Participation: We understand life gets busy! Some members attend every session, while others drop by occasionally or simply contribute completed pieces at their own pace.

  • Stay in the Loop: If you're interested, add yourself to my email list where you'll receive updates on the project's progress and learn about ways to contribute even from home. EMAIL LIST!

This is a relaxed, fun, and inclusive community. We can't wait for you to join us and be part of something special!
